Registered Nurse (full-time)
Arlington Free Clinic (AFC) is seeking an experienced, compassionate Registered Nurse to provide quality care and case management for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessing/triage of walk-in patients, planning their care and documenting in the EMR
  • Scheduling patient appointments and organizing pre-appointment work-up and post appointment follow-up as ordered.
  • Educating patients on managing symptoms, medications and self-care using teach back and motivational interviewing methods.
  • Coordinating patient care with the support of Medical Assistants
  • Managing a panel of patients with chronic diseases
  • Managing onsite and telehealth appointments with volunteer medical providers
  • Managing electronic medical records and health care data

Medical Assistant Bilingual – Temporary Position
Arlington Free Clinic (AFC) is a nonprofit organization that provides free, high-quality healthcare to low-income, uninsured adults in Arlington, VA. We are seeking an experienced, compassionate Medical Assistant to provide high-quality care to our patients. The ideal candidate would join our clinic for Six Months working 40 hours per week with the nurse team and volunteer providers. The Medical Assistant will be the first line of contact with the clinic’s patients and must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
• Triage walk-in patients and assess needs and consult with nurse
• Make necessary appointments and maintain patient records
• Give immunizations and conduct point of care testing as needed
• Provide administrative support of patient care management
• Serve as interpreter for provider/nurse manager as needed
• Assist patients with emergency room or hospital admission follow-up
• Assist in post-clinic appointment scheduling, referrals, prescribed testing, and follow-up calls as needed
• Assist patients with lab orders and prescriptions received from specialist
• Update/document all necessary information in patient records in EMR system

• HS. Diploma or higher
• Minimum of 1-2 years work experience in healthcare setting
• Completed Medical Assistant training (MA certification preferred)
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish
• Strong written skills and ability to keep detailed records
• Effective communication skills; demonstrates professional and courteous demeanor with patients.
• Proficient in MS Office and experience using EMR (EPIC preferred)
• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality with a high level of integrity, diplomacy, and discretion.
This is a temporary position working 40 hours per week.
